Beginner/All-Levels Yoga Classes

All Levels – With instructors Wendy, Kate, Catherine, Janis, and Diana. This class is designed to release stress and increase the flexibility of body and mind. Blending breath, movement and spirit, this class will suit beginners as well as the most experienced yogi.

All Levels Flow and Restore - with Temple. Join us as we link postures with breath, creating a dynamic, fluid practice.  Each student is  invited to follow the breath and move at his/her individual pace. We will focus on building strength and stability, improving balance and increasing flexibility while honoring the mind, body, spirit connection.  The last portion of class will include longer held postures, promoting restoration, healing, and relaxation.  Modifications will be offered as needed for students beginning a practice, returning to practice, recovering from injury, or looking to advance.  Enjoy the energy of a class, while truly practicing your own yoga.  All levels of students are welcome.

Exploring Yoga - with Catherine Sarni. A great class for those new to yoga or returning to practice after a long absence. Offering a safe and welcoming environment to explore yoga’s many benefits. Classes include breath work and a brief meditation, warm ups, poses to increase strength, flexibility and balance, and relaxation techniques. New poses and variations will be explored each week. Come find YOUR pose!.

Gentle Yoga - with Wendy and Sonia. A Gentle class is appropriate for students of all levels of yoga practice; modifications offered; introduces the student to the art and science of Hatha yoga. A combination of physical postures, breathing  techniques, deep relaxation and mental concentration are incorporated.

Tune in to and enhance your core energy, also known as your Hara, which is both physical and mental. From the Hara radiate, expand, and strengthen through flowing poses and breathe. Class will play with variations on sun salutations, longer holds, balance, and pranayama. Modifications are offered to increase/ decrease difficulty but some yoga experience is suggested. Room warmed to approximately 78 degrees. Restorative Yoga - Restorative yoga is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props. The use of props makes it easier for you to maintain balance while you are stimulating and relaxing your body. It's a relaxing style of practice that leaves you feeling open and refreshed while aiding in relaxation and stress relief. Check the schedule for upcoming restorative yoga workshops!

Yin Yoga - with Mark.  Restore balance to your life with Yin Yoga.  This class will gently apply stresses on the tissues of your body that yang yoga and exercise cannot.  The result is strengthened joints and connective tissue.Many modern people feel anxiety and paradoxically a lack of energy. By applying pressure to many of the meridians of the body this classwill work to restore the healthy flow of energy, reducing anxiety and accessing energy by unblocking its flow.

Yoga 101 - with Kate. This gently-paced class is just as suitable for beginners, as it is for seasoned yogis looking to return to the basics and deepen their practice.  Class structure will include meditation, warm-up, a series of standing and floor poses to increase strength, flexibility, and balance, ending with relaxation.  Attention will be given to alignment and breath.  Students will learn how to modify poses based upon their unique needs, as well as how to incorporate props into their practice to enhance and deepen the experience. If you've hesitated to practice yoga because you felt you weren't flexible or strong enough, this class is perfect for you.  The atmosphere is one that's open and welcoming so that EVERY BODY may enjoy a safe, supported, and pleasurable practice.
