Challenging Yoga Classes
Ashtanga Light - With Suzanne Choate. This is a challenging power-yoga-based practice which develops strength and endurance. It is based on the classical yoga system as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Class structure will be similar to the primary Ashtanga sequence in terms of tempo and posture progression. Modifications from the classical style will include selected position substitutions, posture variations offered, and alignment considerations. This method produces an intense internal heat and a purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The practice can be both athletic and meditative which results in improved circulation, a light and strong body and a calm mind.
All Levels Vinyasa Flow - With instructors Maeve and Melissa. A flowing sequence of stretching, strengthening and energizing postures that links movement with the breath. A seamless link of poses with modifications offered for those looking for less or more impact. Breathing techniques are also explored.
Sacred Power - With John Hauser. This is a class for experienced practitioners who wish to immerse themselves in this demanding Sadhana which combines sun salutation variations with postures held for longer periods to develop strength and effect deep releases. Aggressive stretching of the low back, hamstrings and hips is emphasized and Yin techniques are often incorporated. There is much reference to the ultimate, traditional goal of Yoga - the end of duality and union with the Divine. Healing, meditation and self-improvement are topics of the chosen readings. We welcome all faiths and spiritual persuasions in this class.
All Levels Power Flow - With Kristin, Kate, Pam and Catherine. Explore your edges! Flow in a sequence of stretching, strengthening and energizing postures linking movement and breath. Centering, meditation and pranayama drawing in body awareness slowly heating into a seamless array of poses that open, expand and challenge breath and body.
Hatha Vinyasa - With Temple Symonds. Hatha yoga, taken from the words referencing sun and moon, is closely related to vinyasa in two ways: The practice focuses on the asanas (poses) and pranayama (breath work). There may be longer holdings of specific poses to get into those places in the body that don’t get accessed nearly enough in our daily lives. Built around the ancient practice of Sun Salutations, vinyasa classes can be anywhere from gentle to dynamic. In a typical vinyasa class, we will flow to inspiration with many variations of sun salutations including more continuous flow with the option of advanced poses. As always, modifications will be offered and I’ll encourage you to listen to your own body and take care as it feels appropriate.
Slow Flow - With Kristin Pancavage. Slow sequencing postures uniting breath and movement which gently builds strength, stamina, balance and opening body and mind. Breath work (pranayama) and meditation also explored. Variations offered to all levels of One's own personal practice.

Yoga for the Western Lifestyle - With Spencer Curry. The Western lifestyle has many advantages, such as a nice car, a big house and financial mobility. However, the benefits we all enjoy come at a cost. Our day-to-day lives are becoming more sedentary, spending our time hunched over behind the wheel or at our desk or on the couch. More often than not we are looking at screens, which place undue stress on our bodies and minds. As a result of our lifestyle, disease rates and healthcare costs are on the rise. The purpose of this class is to return balance and health to the body and mind, reversing the effects of living in our fast paced Western world. All skill levels welcome! Be prepared to move, remember this is about reversing our sedentary patterns!
Kundalini Yoga - With Natalie Goff. Kundalini Yoga, known as the Yoga of Awareness truly utilizes most of the components of yoga in each class; Pranayam, Mudras, Bhandas, Postures and Chanting. There is a beautiful exactness and science to how Kundalini is taught, graciously brought to us by Master Teacher Yogi Bhajan for the Aquarian Age. As a Yogi of 20 years, this yoga brought all I had learned about yoga into one class.
Vinyasa Flow - With Maeve and Natalie. In this fun yet challenging class, you will be guided through a series of asana coordinated to the flow of your breath. Standing and seated postures, backbends, hip-openers, and inversions flow together to form a seamless dance-like movement deepening the awareness of your breath.
